Events: Spring connection
Fox hosts career fairs every semester, with the biggest one being spring connection. I’ve been to these career fairs since I was a freshmen, and I definitely find them extremely helpful. Spring connection is a very good place for students to make connections with representatives from different companies, with the potential of an internship. Even though this is not a MIS exclusive event, it’s still a great opportunity for students to connect with others and getting to know about the corporate world more. From this event, I learned the importance of connection and how to talk to recruiters professionally. For example, I learned to research all the companies beforehand to see if they are a fit for me. Knowing about the companies also helps with conversing with employers much easier and smoother. These events also made me feel more confident and less self conscious at professional settings.
