The Purpose of Work
On December 7th, 2020, the Institute for Business and Information Technology held a fireside chat featuring Mark Spykerman. As the chief information officer of AmerisourceBergen, Mark had a lot of knowledge to share with attendees who tuned in via Zoom webinar. Something I took away from this fireside chat is the importance of working hard rather than worrying about GPA. While both are mostly positively correlated, the number on my resume isn\’t as critical as the perseverance and determination I gain from studying hard for exams and putting in the work necessary to learn material in my classes. This webinar was a much needed reminder to keep working hard during finals week and inspired me to hit the books and secure my future success with this semester\’s grades.
