Application Integration and Evaluation
This course teaches advanced application development and faced paced learning. We learned how to use JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX/JSON, and more advanced use of HTML, CSS, and PHP that was learned in requisite course. This will help me in my career in several ways. The course gave me an understanding of some of the primary languages used to code today. The way this course is taught will also help me because it made me learn complex material at a fast pace and it helped me learn to use outside resources to solve problems.
Data Analytics
This course introduced me to data analytics and using tools to do this. I was introduced to SQL, R Studios, and was given a much more complex understanding of Microsoft Excel. We were taught how to run queries in SQL, use R and run scripts, and work with Excel functions to analyze and visualize data. This will help me in my career if I decide to go down the path of data analysis but it will also help understand what other people use these technologies for even if I’m not using them directly.
Enterprise IT Architecture
This course taught me how networks within an organization can be set up. We learned how to set up a network of virtual machines, create user accounts within the network, set up a file server to share files in the network, and alert the administrator if there is a problem with the virtual machines via email. This course also teaches business writing and how to use it concisely and efficiently. In my career, this will help me have an understanding of how the workplace network functions or if I am the one working on it it’s given me an understanding of it so I wont have to learn everything. It will also help me to write concisely and efficiently.
Digital Design Studios
This class taught me the basics of being a business analyst. We worked in teams with a client for the entire semester focusing on building them a prototype to fit the needs of their idea for an application for a startup company. This class gave me a lot of experience higher level team work and knowledge about gather client requirements, communication and prototyping. All of these skills could be useful in the future to help with my career.
