Hobbies & Interests
Volleyball
I became interested in volleyball after my sister started playing for our high school team. Going into high school, I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps and excel in the sport. I made the junior varsity team my freshman year. Only after one season, I had significantly developed my skills, so the varsity coach invited me to play on both the varsity and junior varsity teams, as well as partaking in varsity tournaments. By my senior year, I was one of the oldest girls on the team, having the most experience and skill. I had secured my position as a Captain because of my great development and teamwork and leadership abilities.
Lacrosse
In middle school, I decided to become more involved in sports. I chose to try out for the lacrosse team. While I initially did not know anything about the sport, I easily picked up on the positions and the different plays. In 8th grade, I played as a left attack wing. During my freshman year of high school, I had progressed greatly in skill and played several positions, like left attack wing and a few defensive positions. I stopped playing the sport only because I was injured with a stress fracture, which would hinder my abilities for the volleyball season.
Dance
Growing up, I have always loved to dance. During 6th grade, I began dancing at Marcia Hyland in Maple Shade, NJ. I danced there for four years, attending weekly jazz and hip hop classes. At the end of each year my classes would perform at a recital at Washington Township’s Performing Arts Center. While I do not take classes anymore, I still love to dance and take every opportunity I can to participate in a dancing event. During my freshman year of college, I performed with my sorority at Greek Sing, which is an eight minute singing and dance competition for Greek Life.
Fashion & Music
Ever since I was little, I have always taken a fascination in fashion and music. I love staying up to date on the latest trends in the fashion world, and I always used to research different designers. Shopping is one of my favorite past times. I listen to all types of music: pop, hip hop, rap, r&b, country, house, etc. No matter where I am, I always have my iPod on me and am listening to music. My interest in both of these things has made me want to possess a career in the fashion or entertainment industry.
