Past Experience & Future Goals

Kumon

I began working at Kumon the summer right after my sophomore year of high school.  Kumon is a company that provides children with additional help in math and reading.  Kumon provides services to children of all ages, for tutoring purposes or for advancement in a subject.  During the two years that I worked for Kumon, I tutored many students and developed my teaching and communicating skills, as well as patience and understanding for their difficulties.  I was also responsible for recording their grades, stapling homework packets, organizing files for the company, and assisting parents with any concerns.

Saladworks

In addition to working at Kumon, I decided to take on a second job at Saladworks.  Here, I was able to progress my customer service skills in the food industry.  I was responsible for making various foods (salads, sandwiches, wraps, etc.), filling and organizing the salad case, maintaining and cleaning the store (washing dishes, sweeping, mopping), answering phones for takeout orders, and going out for deliveries.

Temple University Beasley School of Law Library

After my first semester at Temple University, I felt that I was fairly acquainted with college life and ready to take on a job.  I was hired to be a Computer Consultant at Temple’s law school.  Some of my tasks included assisting law students with technical difficulties with printers, scanners, fax machines, etc., monitoring network connections, and replenishing supply inventories.

PHH Mortgage

The summer after my freshman year of college, I landed an internship with PHH Mortgage as a Closing Mortgage Electronic Registration Services Assistant.  My main responsibility was data entry into our online and company databases; I became familiar with the MERS website and the database programs called Fidelity/LPS, Commander and CASH.  I reviewed and audited numerous mortgage documents daily, learning much of the language and formatting of these legal documents.

Plaza Pizza

I used my previous customer service experience at Saladworks to earn myself a Counter Clerk/Cashier position at Plaza Pizza.  At this restaurant, I take numerous food orders in person and via telephone.  I am responsible for giving customers their meals, as well as handling the money and providing them with a smooth transaction.  I restock food items and condiments and maintain the counter tops, in addition to the over all restaurant area.

Future

After college, I hope to have a career in accounting, as a financial analyst/planner or an internal auditor for a fashion or entertainment company.
