Experience

Hello! Welcome to my Experience Page.  Here, I have listed all of the professional positions I have held throughout my career.  I have listed them in an order starting with my most relevant position.

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Philadelphia PA

Two Summers ago and this summer I interned for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) which is a program under the Department of Defense for the United States.  The DLA is responsible for supplying the Army, Navy, Military, Air Force, and other agencies with the critical resources they need to accomplish their worldwide missions.  For more information about the DLA, please visit their website.  My role as an intern was under the Special Operations/Fire and Emergency Team.

I was responsible for sorting through pricing data that we received from our vendors included in the current contracts.  This included reviewing all of their data to make sure nothing would cause an error in our database.  After I determined which price was fair and reasonable, the next step was to make sure everything was compliant with the laws the DLA follows.  After this was verified, I had to enter every item into our database, and make sure there were no errors.  My role was very important because I am the first person who reviewed orders to make sure they were acceptable to purchase.  Many orders I handled were worth millions of dollars.

Here is a picture of me standing with the President and Vice President flags in the DLA Flag Room. The Flag Room has existed for over 150 years, dating back to when Betsy Ross made flags for the Military. The DLA is the sole producer of the hand embroidered presidential and vice presidential flags.  This room is located on the Navy base I work on in Philadelphia.

PEI Genesis, Philadelphia PA

This was my first internship.  I was an intern at PEI Genesis from May 2018 to July 2018.  PEI Genesis is a engineering firm that creates connectors and cable solutions for harsh environments.   For more information about the company, please visit their website. My role as an intern was under the Global Operations Team.  Although I worked with mainly this team, I was also exposed to other teams in the company such as Finance, Supply Chain, IT, engineering, etc.

My job was to collect pricing and technical data from suppliers and to convert it to company standards to report to upper management.  I also developed and documented data into their ERP acquisition systems and databases which include ASW.  In between projects, I created macros and programs including pivot tables to make systems less time consuming and more efficient for buyers.  My daily task was to run reports and send them to our consumers.

The most complex project of the summer was to contact suppliers to support them to align their IT systems with headquarters.  I really enjoyed this project because I got to work with PEI Genesis’ other locations in China and Europe.

Here is a picture of the other interns and I from my summer internship.

Neshaminy Beverage Bensalem PA

This is my current job that I have held since June 2017.  I am a cashier at a beer distributor in my hometown.  For more information, please visit their website.  My main task is to perform inventory reviews and verify invoices.  I will also receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, or debit cards from customers for products.  A part of this is issuing receipts and refunds.  At the end of my shift, I reconcile cash drawers including safe and lottery drawers to make sure it is balanced between bills and change.

Flynn O’ Hara, Philadelphia PA

In high school, I was a sales associate at a uniform store, Flynn O’ Hara.  For more information about this company, please visit their website.   I held this job from August 2013 to August 2016.  My job was to aid young customers to find a uniform that would fit them properly.  I also kept the showroom clean and visually appealing at all times.  In between these tasks, I answered customer’s questions and dealt with problems and complaints.
