Work Experience

Infinity Digital – Digital Marketing & SEO Agency:

Digital Marketing Intern May 2016 – January 2017  | May 2017 – Present I am currently in my second stint with Infinity Digital Agency.  Although my title is still technically an intern, I would say that I have grown accustomed to the company and industry rather quickly.  The first few weeks were filled with training sessions from management during which time we would watch industry videos (most notably is Moz’s Whiteboard Friday), attend webinars for new softwares we began using (most notably is Vendasta), and training for miscellaneous job-related tasks.  Infinity is a small company – only 6 people with a few more working remotely – so getting used to the culture of the company was fairly easy.  Plus, it helps to share common interests with other team members. Management does a great job of learning about their team’s strengths and weaknesses to tailor work assignments or processes to exploit those strengths and minimize weaknesses.  Part of what they try to instill in all employees is the fact that the digital marketing industry changes on a seemingly daily basis.  If we don’t keep up with the industry changes, we will fall behind our competition very quickly and our clients will suffer as a result.  Management also makes it a point to say that our specialties are not our titles.  For example, my specialty is SEO but my title is Digital Marketer.  This is to promote a culture of constant learning and communication.  By being a Digital Marketer instead of an SEO Associate, I am encouraged to learn how my job affects my coworkers’ jobs; this culture appears to be working. On a typical day at Infinity I would get to the office around 8:00 or 8:30.  I like to use this time to enjoy my cup of coffee while reading blogs, articles, or even just to make any necessary preparations for the day.  We use a project management system called TeamWork that keeps us all on-target and has clearly-labeled tasks with due dates, estimates, any notes, required files, etc.  A bulk of my tasks revolve exclusively around SEO so I am constantly performing technical audits on client/potential client websites, conducting keyword research, spying on competitors, writing or ordering website content from freelancers, planning SEO campaigns months in advanced, and calling clients for status updates.  Since it is a small company, there are certainly things out of my comfort-zone that I am forced to do, but I actually enjoy the challenge.  Specifically, I was not looking forward to calling clients regularly but now that I do, there are specific clients with whom I’ve formed a friendly relationship! All-in-all, this internship has been a massive success.  I will remain at Infinity throughout the Fall 2017 semester and beyond as a paid employee and I could not be happier for the future.  In only two years this company has grown from a basement with two computers and a handful of small clients in Bucks County to an office of 6+ people with great SEO rankings and clients in several states.  Being a part of a company that values their employees and not just the balance sheet is a wonderful feeling that I wish all other students at Temple should experience.  If you are reading this and have any interested in digital marketing, SEO, or web design, don’t hesitate to reach out to me!

Lahm DesignFreelance:

Web Design & Development: February 2016 – Present As my passion for becoming a designer continues to grow, I am constantly looking for new projects to work on! Check out my personal portfolio and see what I’ve been able to accomplish on my own. Most of the stuff on there is for fun but some is for actual clients. My intentions with Lahm Design are to really hone in on my craft and put the skills that I learn in school and from others to practical use. Check back on my blog for updates, tips, tricks, creative works, and more!

Total Web CompanyTotal Web Company:

SEO Intern & Associate: September 2015 – May 2016  (Intern) January 2017 – May 2017 (Temporary SEO Associate) I began my career at Total Web Company with the hopes of becoming a better programmer and web designer.  As an intern I have learned the basics of HTML, CSS, PHP, and several Adobe products such as Photoshop, Muse, Illustrator, and Lightroom.  The most importation skill that I have learned so far is Search Engine Optimization.  Although I am still in the process of perfecting my skill set, I can already see a huge improvement.  And as I said on my “Future Goals” page, I hope to become an employee of the company throughout the summer and even into the upcoming semesters. In January 2017 I, unfortunately, had to resign from my position at Infinity Digital Agency due to scheduling conflicts with school.  Justin Wallace, Project Manager at Total Web Company, heard about my resignation and offered me a temporary paid position doing SEO, website designing, blogging, video editing, and server maintenance.  Having also taken Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization courses as electives, I felt confident in my abilities to lead a department of my own. If I can leave you with one bit of information, let it be DON’T BURN BRIDGES!  Because I amicably split from Total Web after my internship, management welcomed me back with open arms.
