Volunteer Work
Beech Hill Kennels:
Kennel Attendant
June 2012 – December 2012
After graduating from high school, I needed something to fill my time so I decided to volunteer at a local kennel. At this facility I didn’t just play with dogs and cats(but believe me, I did do quite a bit of that), I was responsible for the sanitary, comfortable, and healthy living conditions for the period of the pets’ boarding. Some guests only stayed for a night or two while other sometimes stayed for weeks. This stint as a volunteer really made me appreciate getting my hands dirty, literally, and I must say that it was one of the most enjoyable summers of my life.
In addition to keeping the living conditions of the guests clean and safe, I performed landscaping services, administered medications for the guests, and even dealt with the customers. This position required the complete and total trust of the owner because it was on their own person property, which I quickly earned through hard-work and dedication. During my time at the Beech Hill Kennels I accumulated over 250 volunteer hours and I do not regret a single one!
