Adding Technology to an Organization

I helped my aunt and the Philadelphia based title company that she works for. The company was looking for a more efficient way to organize the scheduling of meetings, settlements, and deadlines for things such as water bill and rent payments. Since my aunt is the primary assistant to the owner of the title company, it was her responsibility to create an efficient solution for this. Before this, she used a physical desk calendar at the office and post-it notes for important notes and information. When she told me about this issue, I volunteered to help. To start off, I made sure that she was set up with a working Google account. She informed me that she did, along with the rest of the company, but they only utilized it for Gmail. I then introduced her to Google Calendar and Google Sheets for optimal efficiency in scheduling, maintaining deadlines, and storing important data. Since she does not have a work computer to take home, I synced her reminders between the Mac desktop she uses and her iPhone. That way, she would have access to all of the reminders she created at work, on her phone and even be able to create reminders at home. After these implementations, my aunt was able to efficiently access all of her important information digitally, and she was a huge fan of the Google Calendar.

Helping my aunt has taught me that technology can help us so much, even through a minor change. Although the addition was straightforward and simple, it proved to be very beneficial and effective. By implementing more technology into my aunt’s work life, it opened up many opportunities for success and efficiency for both her and the company she works for.
