Building UX for Non Profit using WordPress

Goals: BEST (Brain, Education, Strategies, Technology) is a non profit helping those with brain injuries and other medical conditions through different services (educational webinars), resources, and support. In my MIS3535 class, our goal for this semester was to create tech/UX support to promote efficiency and productivity within a fully accessible site. The client’s request specifically focuses on implementing a calendar and video library for their site.

Results: The result of this semester long project was providing BEST’s founder Michelle Ranae Wild and Kristi Kragthorpe a fully functional site for their future customers to utilize.

Building this site for BEST has allowed me to gain hands on experience in WordPress. Through WordPress we were able to experiment with different plug-ins, themes, and calendar layouts in order to make the UX of the site easy to use while also remaining true to BEST’s mission. We implemented a video library as well as several calendars throughout the site to let customers know when different events and webinars take place.
