Monitoring and Observability with Datadog
In the Monitoring and Observability with Datadog course, I learned how essential observability is for maintaining reliable systems, especially in environments that rely on cloud infrastructure and microservices. The course helped me understand the core components of observability, monitoring infrastructure, application performance, and logs and how Datadog brings all of these pieces together. I learned how to use Datadog’s APM tools to track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and how to build dashboards, set up monitors, and run synthetic tests. One of the most valuable parts for me was learning how to create custom metrics from logs and correlate them with traces for more effective troubleshooting. Overall, this course strengthened my understanding of observability practices and showed me how to apply them using Datadog in real-world scenarios.
