The ITACS Advisory Council met on Thursday, October 16th with members from Ace, EY, PWC, Teleflex, Vanguard, Walmart and Wells Fargo attending. After the meeting, members joined current and prospective students for a discussion of the future of academic and industry credentials in the IT assurance industry. The rich discussion lead to many insights about the current and future need for academic degrees and professional certifications. All agreed that IT assurance is a field that requires continuous learning. One of the more interesting obeservations was the perception that senior level managers in future will likely need a more technical undergraduate or graduate degree along with the requisite leadership and accounting skills.
