MIS 2402- Data Centric Application Development
Learned how to develop web-based data-centric applications using high level programming language. Use debugging techniques to identify errors and make improvements. Also learned how to make simple data driven applications that connect with a database.
MIS 2502 – Data Analytics
Learned how to analyze data and learn how to present insights from business data. Sourced traditional and new data types and apply data mining and visualization to generate business intelligence. Created data models and data warehouses based to achieve the business needs.
How these classes relate to previous projects.
These classes involved analyzing a lot of data to help solve a problem. The summer after these classes I had a chance at my internship to help run an analytics project involving a resort company. This project entailed us to read through data to find the most effective and inexpensive approach to reaching their target audience. Then being able to present that data through data visualization to show the client. I was able to learn a lot about the processes and where I need to improve for future project endeavors.
