Social Media Marketing Professional Points
Social Media Marketing – Get the Word Out!
Completed in the Spring 2018 semester
Sponsoring Organization: Blackstone LaunchPad
Blackstone LaunchPad room, Howard Gittis Student Center on April 12, 2018
What I learned –
• Brian Hart spoke about personal and business brand
• Twitter is useful not for selling on the platform, but to build trust with potential clients
• LinkedIn is useful for business to business communication and selling
• You must find the right platform to brand yourself based on what type of business you’re in
• It is good to show personality on social media, it does not have to be strictly business
• Facebook is bad for organic success, you would have to pay to promote on that platform
This activity relates to my career goals because having a proper social media presence can have an impact on the likelihood of receiving a job offer at a company. Also, as in Brian Hart’s case, being active on social media can end up getting one job offers. I would like to have a presence on social media that has a positive outcome as such.
