Application Analyst Intern
I was supposed to be a part of the team that was responsible for finding technical solutions to help improve the revenue cycle.
Internship offer accepted, but was cancelled last minute due to COVID-19. There was 3 week lunch and learn program offered for interns whose programs were cancelled. I attended seven seminars where I learned about Universal Health Services and heard from a variety of their IS/IT teams and problems they work to solve within the company. This program was valuable to me, because despite my internship being cancelled, I was able to learn more about the healthcare IT field and the different career paths I could take with my degree. It was also interesting to speak with people who were interns in the past and how they transitioned from college and an internship role to a full-time roll.
