For MIS 3506-Digital Design and Innovation, students were grouped into teams and assigned the roles of Business Analysts, while also working with the MIS 3535 class and their role were the project managers for us. Our goal was to create a prototype of a website to our client Pound Cake, a cosmetic company focused on providing authentic cosmetics geared towards complementing every skin tone. Pound Cake’s mission is to highlight and represent all ethnicities as well as disrupt today’s generally accepted beauty standards. Our group was assigned to focus developing technology enabled web and mobile tools for a true, virtual representation of their cosmetics, including:

  1. To enable prospective clients the ability to get a true sense of how the cosmetics will look based on their skin tone
  2. To enable prospective clients the ability to see the model move, blink and act realistically while wearing Pound Cake cosmetics
  3. Determine what types of prospective clients are utilizing this service and what is important to them

You can find a file of our final prototype here. We made our solution in Justinmind, which is a program that is designed to create prototypes of solutions. Also you can find our presentation that we created to sell our prototype to our client Poundcake here on slideshare.
