Facilities & Operations Intern

I continued working at The School District of Philadelphia from my fall internship. During the spring semester I was tasked with continued heating of all building locations owned by the school district via the form system that I had previously set up. This system that I helped to create worked perfectly the entire heating season and they will continue to use it for the next heating season as well.

I have also been assigned full control of the Timetrak system. Timetrak is a system that allows management to track employees punching in and out of their assigned workplace. Not only does it need to be updated everyday, but I was now the sole person running it, so I have to also enter every employee into the system, give them a Timetrak number, a pin number, a location and also keep management informed of where all the employees were being placed. I am also tasked with transferring employees from location to location and making sure that their online status matched with where they were suppose to be. I received calls from building engineers asking me to find employees that were not showing up on the online portion of Timetrak that they use to check punches and fix the errors in the Timetrak database so that they would appear. This all takes place on 2 separate servers that uses VMware, which I learned to use in Enterprise IT Architecture.

With keeping Timetrak updated each day, I have to run many different parts on 2 separate servers. The first part updates the Timetrak database which payroll uses to track punch ins and outs. The second part takes place on the districts server and that uses SQL commands to write data into the access database which keeps the online portion of Timetrak updated. If there is ever an error and I cannot figure it out on my own, I work with either the IT Manager at the school district or the Timetrak vendor that sold us the software/hardware.
