Over the Summer I was lucky enough to get an internship with Visar Collection, a garment company located in Kowloon, Hong Kong. During my internship I was assigned with designing, supporting and enhancing their website using WordPress CMS and plugins. This part of my internship was very challenging, but also a great learning experience. Working on their website helped improve my HTML, CSS, and SQL skills. I believe gaining experience in these various coding languages will be very beneficial for my in the future. In addition to improving my coding skills, this internship also gave me valuable experience in the working environment. Being my first corporate job experience, it was hard for me at first adjusting to the corporate working environment. However, after this internship, I believe that I have grown from it. While working on my assignments I was often left to figure out a lot of problems on my own. I feel that this has made me more independent and has helped with my problem solving skills. Another task that I was assigned was taking parts of their data and creating a graphical interpretation of that data that is easier to analyze. Overall working at Visar Collection shown me that there is so much that goes into any business project. It shows me that you have to think about all of the little details if you want different systems to work efficiently.
