Robotics Process Automation Intern

1. Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks): Wrote business specifications to develop and modify programs that improved the efficacy of an application or operating system. Determined and implemented the most efficient and cost-effective solution (ex., coding new or modified programs, reusing existing code through program development software alternatives). Modified, tested, and debugged vendor-supplied utilities, packages, and engineering releases to better suit them to the operating environment. Assisted in developing and modifying relatively complex system/software such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications, and file management.

2.Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished): Chasm Bot- Bot creates a referral in Polaris and incurred Annuity Claims into the Chasm Database. I facilitated team meetings that led to the requirements document for the Bot. I coded several automation tasks for the bot that was tested and deployed into the MassMutual system. I executed IUT on the new code and document results, then initiated peer code review.  IFL OPM Bot- Bot downloads and sends illustrations for ‘Full Pay’ or ‘Zero Outlay’ requests, for policies on the OPM admin system. I created test scenarios for the new bot enhancements. Worked with testers and data managers to identify test scenarios. Life Claims Setup Bot- Bot will process work events in CATS, determines complexity, updates policies, and adds policies to Rumba queue. I created requirements documents and design documents for the new bot. I participated in requirements workshops with the business team.

3. What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses)

MassMutual provided me with a fundamental understanding in not only the insurance industry but the scalability of automation within different business tasks. I was able to utilize different skills such as searching through the database using SQL, which I learned in the MIS Data Analytics course. Interning on the Robotics team taught me how to use APIs for different softwares such as UiPath and Postman, which was touched up on in MIS Web Developement course.
