- What you learned – Chris Kearns, the Senior Vice President at NBCUniversal, discussed the question “Is digital transformation in the end all about the customer experience?”. Much of the discussion was based off of how in 2020 due to COVID, the digital transformation is growing at a rapid rate. He touched on the fact that while the customer experienced is enhanced, digital transformation has also shown to benefit employers. One thing I learned from this webinar that surprised me was that while many employers expected productivity to go down due to virtual work, many employers are realizing this isn’t the case. It makes you wonder how much work will be permanently virtual even post COVID.
- How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals – As an MIS minor who is graduating in the spring, I thought this webinar was helpful. I thought hearing about how digitalization effects not just customers, but employers and employees is important as I will be starting my career soon and thought this insight was valuable.
