Work Experience

ClassNKLogo-610x200Intern, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, New York

The internship at ClassNK has allowed me to use many of the skills that I’ve learned in my MIS classes.  My main task is to update company’s internal records to eliminate any redundancies and access to accurate status for their long list of past and future customers.  Aside from data management, I have also had an opportunity to use my language skills to assist the business promotion activities.

Translator, Jimmy Chung Attorney Office, Philadelphia

When I graduated from High School, I had an opportunity to provide translation services for the Attorney named Jimmy Chung at Center City during Summer vacation. It was a part-time job that I’ve been selected by my local soccer team coach, Jimmy Chung. I translated phone calls and conversations between clients and the attorney in Korean to English verbally and written documents. I also facilitated a meeting between a Philadelphia based Korean newspaper and the attorney to place advertisement in the newspapers. It was a great opportunity to get faced the professionalism, especially the law field.

Cashier, H-MART, Philadelphia

When I was a freshman in college, I had a part-time job that is called a cashier at H-MART. Majority of customers for this huge market are Koreans and some are non-Koreans. Thus they were looked for a person who fluently speaks not only Korean, but also English. Works that I did were receiving orders, handling money and providing customer service to a sixty-seat Korean food court. In addition, I provided assistance to cooks when large orders were received. It was a time that I could learn the high level of responsibility.
