UPenn & Capital One Case Competition

I had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 UPenn Consult for America Case Competition, sponsored by Capital One. I teamed up with two other undergraduate university students, and together we competed to showcase our problem-solving skills and develop innovative solutions for the future of financial services. The theme of the competition was Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in financial services.

Through this case competition, I had the opportunity to learn more about fintech and the significant role that AI/ML plays in the industry. Working with a team, I honed my skills and explored the construction, hosting, and training of Large Language Models (LLMs). We discovered various hosting options, including on-premise data centers, hyperscalers like AWS and Azure, and subscription-based models like ChatGPT and Anthropic. Our research also revealed how large corporations are building enterprise-level LLMs using proprietary data, creating an equity gap in technology adoption between them and small businesses. To address this gap, our solution offers AI-based business consulting resources tailored to small businesses. We aim to level the playing field and make advanced AI technologies accessible to everyone.
