M.I.S. Intern
As a full time M.I.S. Intern at Center City Legal Reproductions (CCLR) I learned a plethora of useful tools at a very speedy pace. The Director of IT guided me through many different issues that needed to be fixed and I am very thankful for the opportunity provided. I came into CCLR while the company was expanding and much work needed to be done.
Due to the expansion, I ran CAT5E/CAT6 lines throughout the broadened office into the server room. It was an inviting opportunity to learn about how to cleanly and properly run lines and to make sure they are designated to the proper switches. I also worked with Brass Lock and Key Inc. and checked to see if the new locks were properly installed and designated to the right employees. I communicated back to the Director of IT and spoke with the employees of Brass Lock and Key Inc. to insure that the locks were properly installed and connected to the network. I enjoyed this because I was able to engage with another party and report issues in order to ultimately find a solution.
In addition to the expansion, CCLR also wanted to achieve SOC 2 compliance. I assisted in gathering documentation for the areas of assessment. I spoke with other departments in order to insure the policies and procedures were being followed. I also assisted the Director of IT in reviewing the different levels of hardware and software security. I enjoyed this process so I took extra time after the office hours to assist.
Throughout this summer internship I have learned many applicable skills. It was truly a great experience and I am very grateful. I am more than excited to continue to learn and to apply my knowledge in the near future!
