The Analytics Challenge
Last year, I competed in the Analytics Challenge hosted by the Institute for Business and Information Technology for the first time. I worked with a team of myself and three other students to try to and figure out whether or not release date affects a blockbuster movie’s box office performance. We cleaned and analyzed a data set with data on films dating back to the 1930’s. While we didn’t place, I really enjoyed the experience as it allowed me to apply what I have learned in classes to something outside of my studies. I’m very excited to use what I’ve learned over this past year in the challenge this year!
