Association for Information Systems
The Association for Information Systems is an organization that is dedicated to providing students interested in Management Information Systems with networking opportunities and practical skills. Temple University’s chapter is the founding chapter of this organization and received the highest honor, chapter of the year, in 2013.
I transferred from Computer Science & Technology to Management Information Systems as my major in the Spring of 2015 therefore my involvement is at its beginning by attending networking meetings and professional workshops. Moreover, I found very informative that the Association for Information Systems has diverse activities such as Technical Development Application Program, which teaches students technical skills with the use of programming languages like HTML, Python, CSS and JavaScript throughout a set of hands-on in order to complete final projects.
Beta Alpha Psi
Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic and professional fraternity for financial information students and professionals. The primary objective of the fraternity is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.
