Beneficial Fox Events
Fox Business School provides many career fairs, informational interviews, professional development talks and networking events for all of their students. Two events I attended that I felt were extremely beneficial as an MIS student were: Fox Spring/Fall Connections and Fox IT Awards.
Fox Spring/Fall Connections are extremely crucial to attend for any business student. This is a four hour networking event where students meet recruiters from companies such as Deloitte, Comcast Corporation, Vanguard, Johnson & Johnson, etc and learn more about their companies and potential internship/job opportunities. Internships are an extremely important experience to have during your college career and these connections are way to get them. I personally gained my internship at Comcast Corporation throughout one of these events.
The Fox IT Awards was a great opportunity to network with my fellow MIS peers, alumni and faculty. It’s also a great place for a MIS student to hear the stories of people such as Linda Dillman (CIO of QVC) and Robert Moore (CEO RJMetrics) who have exceeded in the Information Technology world.
