My Experiences
Research Assistant at Temple University
As a research assistant, I have been able to research topics that are of interest to me such as mobile analytics, Big Data and the Internet of Things. I also analyzed company case studies such as Pandora Media Inc. to gain insight into the use of Big Data and marking analytics. My research has been applied through presentations to distinguished business professionals from University of Chicago and University of Michigan. I was even able to present my research to the CEO of a company called Planalytics!
Manager
Pearson McGonigle is a 30,500-square foot space that provides opportunities for activities such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and fencing. I am currently working in an office in Pearson McGonigle where I manage and organize sporting equipment for all of the recreational classes on Temple University’s campus. My job allows me to greet and inform students about sporting activities and where they should handle their consultations depending on their needs.
Head Waitress
Walia Ethiopian restaurant is a family-owned restaurant located in the business and culture center of the vibrant village of South Orange, NJ. At Walia Ethiopian Restaurant, a 50 seat casual dining restaurant, I greeted and served customers. Not only did I fulfill the requirements of a waitress physically, I also played a leadership role by training 5 waiters and waitress in essential serving skills. Working in the food industry allowed me to expand my communication and organizational skills and learn to successfully adapt to stressful situations.
Administrative Assistant
Powell Group is a mental health services with over 6 therapist in-office houses located in Maplewood, NJ. Mr. Powell, the head of Powell Group, is a licensed clinical social worker, and marriage and family therapist who has been in the practice for 28 years. The professionals in Powell Group have patients come from all over the east coast and are referred by insurance companies, friends and past patients. When I worked here I managed all of the therapists’s appointments and office files. I did small projects which included creating business cards, formal letter formats, invitation cards and larger projects such as planning group events for our company.
