MIS 3535 Personal Journal Entry – December 5th

This past Wednesday evening our BAs presented to Tony Loftus of Somerville Lumber.  The presentation couldn’t have gone any better. They did a thorough job at explaining the problem, their big idea, their solution, and business case.  There was a minor technical problem, but they managed to pull through successfully.  I was very impressed with the BAs and their work.  Tony Loftus was also impressed as he did not have any questions for them, because of their thorough explanation.

As for the PMs, we’ve used the past couple days to put the finishing touches on  our final deliverables. We  previously outlined what we wanted to include in our binder, which made it easier to assemble the binder.

MIS 3535 Personal Journal Entry – November 21st

Our change management and communication plan revisions were due this week.  I was responsible for making revisions to our communication plan. In today’s  meeting we defined the roles and responsibilities that the PMs should be working on over fall break to make sure our final report is completed on time.  In addition, we discussed what documents we want to include in our final binder that we will hand in at the end of the project.  Furthermore, the BAs presented their current presentation along with their functioning prototype.  They went through their prototype in great detail.  I was very impressed with the work that they have so far. I know both the BAs and PMs plan to work on certain deliverables during our fall break.

MIS 3535 Personal Journal Entry – November 14th

Not much has changed in the past week.  We are still on time and on track.  The only change that has occurred is the deliverable that was worked on this week.  The BAs mostly focused on the business rules.  They have a good amount of business rules, but I recommend they try to come up with more business rules.  I know that they will come up with more business rules once their prototype is almost or fully developed.  In today’s meeting, we looked over the business rules and personas and made suggestions/comments for revisions. In addition, we discussed what the BAs should expect and our expectations for the presentation day. Everyone now knows their roles/responsibilites for that day.

I’m still in charge of reminding my teammates to track their hours.  I did notice that it is a lot harder than I was expecting.  I’m thinking of other ways that could

MIS 3535 Personal Journal Entry – November 7th

The time sheet for the BAs and PMs has been implemented.  I will be reminding everyone on the team to input their hours. Especially in the next few weeks to come since most of the team will be working on the deliverables.  In today’s meeting, we looked over and discussed the team’s the most updated version of the scope document, prototype, personas, and business rules.  We didn’t go too much in depth with business rules, since the BAs haven’t reviewed business rules in class yet. We explained the gist of them, but will definitely go over and make corrections to their business rules next week.  The BAs are ahead of the game and as long as they continue at this pace they will have no problem in completing the deliverables.  In addition, the PMs constantly remind the BAs that we are here to help, and encourage them to come to us with any question they may have and they have.  This has greatly improved the relationship between us.
