Academics & Activties

Temple University, Philadelphia PA

Temple’s International Business program has been ranked in the top ten of all undergraduate programs for the past five years in US News & World Report. The Finance program is well respected and provides students with many skills needed to enter the job market such as Excel and Financial Management Theory. The courses required to complete these majors are competitive and require students to work on projects using real life experiences and cases. Temple’s diversity also enables students to perfect effective interpersonal and communication skills within groups.

Apart from the Temple’s general course requirements, some of the courses that I have taken thus far are: International Finance, Corporate Finance, International Marketing, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Business Legal Studies, Management Information Systems, etc.

International Business Association

Once enrolled into Temple, I wanted to find an organization that allowed me to learn which aspects of International Business most appealed to me and gain a larger network of people who shared the same interests. I found all this in the International Business Association. The IBA is a Student Professional Organization within the Fox School that promotes the knowledge of International Business by hosting weekly meetings with professionals from varying international businesses as speakers and participates in fundraising and community service events.

After being an active member for one semester I was appointed to the Director of Public Relations position from 2010-2011. I was responsible for organizing the social and fundraising events as well as managing the Public Relations Committee. The following year, 2011-2012, I was elected President of the organization. It was my duty as President to manage the eleven additional officers and ensure that all tasks and events were carried out efficiently. My first goal as President was to create a better sense of community between the members so that discussing topics and seeking advice from one another was comfortable. In doing this the IBA was able to grow and exceed 100 members by the Spring 2012 Semester.  I was re-elected as President for the 2012-2013 school year and retained the same amount of enthusiasm and positive energy. This only continued to help members within their professional development and networking abilities.

Temple University Equestrian Team

Horseback riding has been a major part of my life growing up and joining Temple’s Equestrian Team was a natural decision for me. Since Fall 2009 I have participated with TUET  in Region 3 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.  Nine other universities make up our zone, including University of Delaware and Valley Forge Military Academy. Each team competes in horse shows throughout the fall and spring semester in equitation and fences. As a team we take lessons once a week and compete during the weekends. It is a wonderful experience to partake in and proves to be a great stress reliever.  To learn more about Temple’s equestrian team click here to view the website I created for the team.
