Thinkful Webinars – Tools Of The Trade: Digital Marketing
Since pandemic effected in-person events in Philadelphia, this event was specifically not live section, it was a recorded webinar so attendees were not able to ask questions at least during the meeting. However, they provided the contact information for the afterwards questions.
I learned lots of new information related to rising power of digital marketing and what tools digital marketers use in order to attract customers.
- It was nice to see ‘KPI’ at the presentation because it’s something that I’m also learning in my Data Science class right now.
- The speaker taught us how KPI helps to plan on effective strategy while picking the effective channels and finally measuring the process with KPIs.
- Something I learned that it was really new: how insights, empathy and personas meeting each other while working on marketing. Creating buyer personas and empathy maps is something I’ll keep in mind.
- The difference between traditional vs digital marketing via using social platforms and Google analytics
The soft skills that we learned actually matched with the business skills that we’ve been applying since I got in Fox Business School. I clearly remember the importance of the user empathy from marketing class. The speaker also talked about how important that analytic thinking and we always see that by engaging technologies at the workplace. In addition to that, design of the digital marketing medias or platforms aka. branding of social platforms reminded me lots of things related to our UX Design class at Temple. The rules such as company’s values requirement, consistency and simplicity, style guides requirements are the things we always talk in the classroom while designing our own websites.
For the future of my carrier, I’ll make sure to apply and adjust my digital marketing tools related to this presentation. Even though my career focus won’t be at marketing side of digital improvement, I thing it was a great opportunity to learn how marketing is shifting its focus to digital as well.
