Supply Chain Pitfalls

One Response to Reading: Week 1

  • I enjoyed reading this article and the pitfalls within. Being aware about typical flaws and things that go wrong in the industry is important to making sure not to follow in the same path. I especially found the first pitfall interesting. It explained that priorities and goals in one part of the supply chain may not be beneficial to another part and could even get in the way of other operations. Therefore, it is important to look at the goals and priorities of the supply chain as a whole instead of just in one sector. I also believe that pitfall number eleven points out interesting factors about organizational barriers. For example, lead time on a product that is needed immediately could be way longer than you expected and an alternative may need to be found.
