Professional Experience @ Conner Strong & Buckelew
At Conner Strong and Buckelew, I was fortunate to take part of an outstanding summer internship program. Although the technical knowledge was of value, the biggest take away was learning about client relationship management dynamics. How to approach new clients, how to handle difficult clients, how to streamline a book of business. I learned how to think about risk management as a proactive set of operations and even an investment that can yield returns and add value to the bottom line versus being a cost center.
Following are the tasks that I was directly in charge with:
-Effectively revise risk management solutions and Insurance Policies to insure the integrity of insurance programs and advise account manager accordingly.
-Participate in renewal processes by contributing to building presentations and visuals.
-Actively attend client meetings with account executives, producers, and high level management teams to discuss risk management solutions and negotiate coverage options.
-Prepare an end of internship presentation to contribute ideas and improvement suggestions.
-Effectively use risk management forecasting software and data analytics tools to advise on adequate decisions.
Although I am not planing to lead a career directly in the insurance broking world, my experience at conner strong has added some valuable perspective to my set of skills.
