Webinar: A Chat with Black Professionals in Tech & Cybersecurity
I attended a Zoom event called “A Chat with Black Professionals in Tech & Cybersecurity” to celebrate Black History Month, which was hosted by the CARE Lab, Black Girls Hack, and Women in Cybersecurity. Jamie Williams, Ian Kimble, and Hakeem Thomas discussed their work experiences, challenges, and triumphs as black men in their professional professions. I learned about the tenacity and determination of black professionals in the technology business. It also demonstrated how far diversity and inclusiveness have come in a very positive way, resulting in a supportive and diverse working atmosphere in which people of all backgrounds may work hard and contribute to many accomplishments. This allows us to network and share ideas with people from many cultural backgrounds.
