My Career Aspirations

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
This is another question that I’ve been asked since I was little—and another that I couldn’t answer…
Now I can.
Using my knowledge of Risk Management and Insurance—and my recent experience in this industry, my ultimate goal is to become the risk manager for a large corporation. I would love to be the one to analyze my company’s loss exposures and be the guy to call the shots on our risk management program. I would like to continue to work in a brokerage firm until I develop enough knowledge about the insurance industry and the many coverages available.
I want to work with a brokerage firm because I enjoy interacting with both clients and carriers. I am a “people person”—and helping others to reduce stress about their business’ or family’s loss exposures is an extremely fulfilling for me. Purchasing insurance can be a complex and daunting task- I love the thought of being a helping hand for those who may not have the time to research necessary coverage. I was raised with the thought that helping people is one of the best things one can do, and I feel that deciphering insurance’s rather complex contracts and providing a detailed description on how my program will keep clients sufficiently covered seems to be a fantastic way to help people.
