From the “Opportunity Knocks” webinar, I learned how crucial it is to customize my resume and cover letter for each job application to really showcase my fit for the role. Keeping my resume clean and easy to read with bullet points and consistent formatting is essential. I also realized the importance of using job-specific keywords to get past applicant tracking systems, as well as employing strong action verbs and quantifiable results to make my achievements stand out. Lastly, I discovered that prioritizing my most relevant skills and experiences at the top can really grab a recruiter’s attention right away.
