Opportunity Knocks: Wisdom From Recent Grads on Jobs & Internships
This activity was a great, interactive learning experience from recent graduates who guide us by giving tips and tricks on exploring job opportunities. This event was sponsored by Handshake. I attended as a participate in the webinar. From this experienced I learned how to expand my growth better. Some of the things I learned include always having my resume updated and having my LinkedIn reflect my resume. It is also advantageous to have a mentor that can assist you whenever you need guidance. This includes utilizing resources and networking. It is also important to research the jobs and companies you are interested in working for. One thing that stood out to me was when a graduate said “showing up is half the battle”. It is important to always show up and to know how to talk about your experience and skills that reflect you the best. This relates to my career goals as I am always looking to expand my growth in the IT industry when it comes to networking.
