IBIT Mentoring Program
Over the summer I completed the IBIT Mentoring Program. My mentor was the senior vice president at a pharmaceutical company. We met up over Zoom throughout the time we were assigned to each other. I learned how the company was handling the pandemic and how they adapted. I also learned more about how information technology is used in the business world. One thing I learned more about was the constant challenge of making a complex application easy to use for the end user. This problem arose a lot in his industry because he was often working with senior citizens with health problems. This activity related to my career goals because often times with technology one has to make the solution to a problem simple enough so the average user can understand it. I have seen this throughout my previous work experiences such as the IBIT Digital Transformation program where the business owners are often not the most technically inclined.
