Logistics Intern

As a logistics intern, I am working on import compliance standards for BASF, the largest chemical company in the world. I receive and initiate the compliance process of over 100 reports per day and review shipment status reporting to ensure passage of US custom requirements. I also coordinate data entry and performed RFI/RFQ when required for BASF clients. I was also able to see the forecastability of various shipments and model the data. My internship experience was remote however I worked with others based in BDP\’s headquarters located in Philadelphia. I gained a lot of insight into working online in a professional environment including the most effective way to communicate with others, virtually collaborating, and learning new skills independently. During my time with BDP, I saw the intricacies of Supply Chain Operations and what it means to be a 4PL firm. I can relate this to my operations courses and also data analytics since I looked at shipping data to see the variations in imports depending on the year. Modeling data is a growing trend in the industry in order to make data more visible. I hope to use these skills in future opportunities as I progress in my professional development.
