Systems Analyst

Cigna is a global health services firm with over 40,000 employees world-wide. Their headquarters is in Bloomfield, Connecticut, while their second-largest office is located in Philadelphia, which is where I will be working full-time beginning in July 2018. I will serve as a Systems Analyst within the Technology Early Career Development Program.

I was placed on a service quality reporting team. I worked on this team during the summer of 2017, so I will beginning my full-time job with a strong level of familiarity. Service quality reporting is a very important IT function – by quantifying the volume of incidents and requests received and analyzing how efficiently they are addressed, IT leaders can make decisions that improve performance. In addition to monitoring service quality, my team also plays a role in tracking the performance of project teams compared to their goals and budgets. Analyzing these metrics has a lot of business value as well.

Last summer, I contributed to gathering requirements for future releases, mocking-up potential solutions and data views, and testing enhancements prior to release. I enjoyed the work, and hope to continue to work on the analysis side of app development once I return in July.

Outside of roll work, I hope to take advantage of many other opportunities that Cigna provided to us ear;y career analysts. I will attend trainings hosted by advanced professionals, listen to senior leaders speak about their past experiences, and attended community service events throughout the Philadelphia area. I feel that Cigna is a great fit for me and I am very excited about the future.
