  4. Job description
    1. As a communications and creative services intern, I was given an array of projects that helped me foster and develop my business and technical skills. Lumen Vitae’s mission is to serve the poor with a Catholic missionary approach. I was able to create blog posts through WordPress and work with primarily the tech team to upgrade the UX of Lumen Vitae\’s website. Given that I am also an MIS major, my boss changed around some of my responsibilities to cater to my interests and gain more experience that will help me as an MIS major. I had the opportunity to create the blog posts and fix a few a few signifier options of website using Javascript within WordPress and create my own UX designs, but sticking to Lumen Vitae’s official colors, that were later featured on Lumen Vitae’s website alongside the blog posts I did.     2. Since my boss, Brian Mundackal, is also a Fox Alumni, he helped me grow in my business skills by assigning me a project of being in charge and creating the 2020-2021 Annual Report. This was a huge honor because I took on a role similar to one of a Project Manager, and I was able to work with several teams within our organization from not only the U.S and Haiti as well. This was extremely difficult because I was in charge of different groups to get information relevant to what I assigned each team to do, especially since I had to create an official structure of the Annual Report before I left Fort Lauderdale. Creating this report within a time crunch has helped me grow into a well rounded woman with several business and tech skills, as I also got mini projects outside of the Annual Report project I had to exercise my skills as an MIS major with not only coding and programming, but also satisfied my interest in branching into UX Design, which is very helpful as I am taking Lead Digital Projects and a UX Design course this semester. The concepts I learned within the internship has given me a leading edge in these courses as I have experience with UX design and I can\’t wait to take on more projects that will help me grow as an MIS major.
