MIS Coursework
MIS 2102: I was introduced to MySQL and Salesforce and how it is used for business operations. I got a sense of the importance of information systems and digital platforms in the business and digital products are designed, used, secured, and deployed.
MIS2402: Through various projects using an array of programs such as Python, Javascript, and creating HTML-based websites. I gained a better perspective on web-based applications and how business’ utilizes this process to integrate web-based services. I also learned how to create loops, and arrays, make API calls, and function web design applications.
MIS2502:By using Python, MYSQL, and NoSQL, I got exposure to how multiple sources of data using methods of extraction, transformation, and data cleansing can combine the data. I had a better understanding of different analytic software as well.
MIS 3506: I got to have a hands-on experience with user design and learned its fundamentals of it. I enjoyed doing projects throughout the semester where we came together in groups to build our own website for a small business through WordPress and learning how to create a professional website using different widgets to integrate the website with a better user experience for consumers and focused on simple yet pleasing aesthetics to draw consumers to purchase our goods.
MIS 3535: This course focuses not only on following with monitor project plans and managing global technology-enabled projects with the influence of information systems but also on the impact of the human relations and elements that coincides with information systems projects. We learned about Agile Project Management and used some of that management when we worked in teams to create an updated and improved website for a real-life client. I got to exercise more on the user experience as well while developing the website while focusing on other functions of the website, which was rewarding to see the end results and everything came together.
