Philly Tech Week 19 Kickoff Festival in Old City

On Friday, May 3rd, 2019 I attended the Philly Tech Week 2019 Kickoff Festival. This event was sponsored by Comcast and the location was at Linode on 3rd and Arch, in Philadelphia. The event was to meet entrepreneurs and network with people who are big in technology. Various companies attended the event to promote and showcase their technology. There were also local artists at the event, who were selling their pieces. There were a number of vendors inside of Linode and there were food trucks and games across the street in the parking lot. What I learned from this event is how to network and gather information from all the people that I met. I heard about peoples start-up companies and some of the events that led them to where they are now. This event related to me because I learned information from people that I spoke with about web development and making websites more appealing, which relates to the MIS 2402 class I\’m enrolled in. Linode is a company who provides Linux based servers and cloud hosting. I would want to work with Linux based servers during my career, so I really enjoyed having the opportunity to see them and learn about them at the event.
