Introduction to SQL

This event is “Introduction to SQL” hosted by NR Computer Learning Center. It started at 4:00pm and ended at 5:00pm. This was an Online event. The main topics around data analysis discussed were Relational Database Basics, Relationships, Datatypes, Primary & Foreign Keys, SQL Statements, Database Manipulation Language (DML), SELECTing All Columns and Rows, SELECTing Specific Columns or Rows, Using the WHERE Clause and Operator Symbols, Checking for a NULL value, Using BETWEEN, IN, LIKE and NOT Operator, Checking Multiple Conditions using. Dr. Vazi Okhandiar led the lecture on Introduction to SQL. She discussed data definition language, data manipulation language, data query language, data control language, and transaction control language. She showed us the free resources the learning center offers. We went over how the relationship database system works. The users create, read, update, and delete using Structured Query Language.  She taught us how to use the coding complier using SQL. We created a supplier table on the complier. She listed step by step how to build the table. We ended with 65 lines of code. Where the result had to be execution complete with exit code 0. This lecture gave me a glimpse of what sql consists of. And made me understand what steps I need to take to make sure to have no errors. This event gave me insight on what I could potentially work with as an MIS major. The instructor had gotten and mba and also had a masters in comp sci. So this makes me a little curious to what I really want to do in the future.
