Projects

Due to the conditions of the COVID-19 crisis, my internship plans for this summer had to be altered. As a result, I had the opportunity to work on an IBIT Business Relief project, where I worked alongside a small business owner in Philadelphia to redesign her website. I had the pleasure of working with Kimberly Kingkiner of Kimberly James Bridal. The additions to her website include:

  • Updating the appointment booking system by setting up the Squarespace appointment tool
  • Adding a designer showcase, including a separate page for each designer, so brides can get a feel for the gowns carried by the boutique
  • Addition of a “FAQ” page, where brides can read blurbs written by Kimberly or watch her explain certain parts of the wedding gown search process via her new Youtube channel
  • Cosmetic redesign of the “We Love Our Brides” page
  • Addition of a “Blog’ page, where Kimberly can provide detailed updates on new designs, upcoming events, and other useful tips for her audience

During my time in the Fox MIS program, I’ve also competed and placed in four Analytics competitions. In order of most recent, these projects include:

  • What does the future of the children’s book market look like?

We competed this project at the Association for Information Systems Student Chapter Leadership Conference Scholastic Analytics Challenge in the Spring of 2020 and placed first.

  • What makes rare disease clinical trials successful?

We competed this project at the IBIT Alexion Analytics Challenge in the Fall of 2019 and placed second.

  • Why do pharmacies buy drugs outside of their Primary Vendor Agreements?

We competed this project at the IBIT AmerisourceBergen Analytics Challenge in the fall of 2018 and placed third. We revised this project and resubmitted it for the Association for Information Systems Student Chapter Leadership Conference AmerisourceBergen Analytics Challenge in the Spring of 2019 and placed second.
