Over this past summer I interned in AmerisourceBergen’s Information Security department.I completed a variety of tasks during this internship including:
- Reviewing daily Information Security events and working with team members to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Preforming privileged access attestation on service, group and user Active Directory accounts and moving confirmed access over to newly created “adm” accounts.
- Using PowerShell to query Active Directory for accounts, groups, and computers that are no longer relevant or used and investigating them for removal.
- Creating and provision a variety of Active Directory items including user accounts, service accounts, shared folders, privileged access roles, and user groups.
- Many miscellaneous Information Security related tasks such as spam analysis, threat analysis, etc.
During my internship I also learned a variety of technologies and skills including:
- Active Directory
- IBM Virtual Security Operations Center
- PowerShell
- Spam Analysis
- Threat Analysis
- User Management strategies
- Websense web filtering
During my internship I had the opportunity not only to interact with the Information Security team but high level executives as well.
At the end of my internship I was offered a part time position within the Information Security department and am now working with the Identity Access Management team.
