LawAtlas Redesigned – First Place

Class Project for MIS 3506: Digital Solutions Studio

As a Business Analyst, I attended three interviews with the project sponsors, stakeholders, and SMEs to collect requirements, and collaborated with my team of 7 to determine the organization’s needs, problems and constraints, develop business rules, analyze its current state, and identify improvement opportunities. As part of the Prototyping team, I also worked together with two teammates to design user interface, establish functionalities and build a prototype using Justinmind.

Learn more about our project here.

Situation: LawAtlas.org is a web-based clearinghouse for policy surveillance data, developed and managed by the Center for Public Health Law Research (CPHLR) at The Beasley School of Law at Temple University. CPHLR’s goal is to make law visible and accessible to everyone and provide reliable information on public health data, how it changes over times and differs across jurisdictions.

Challenge: To grow LawAtlas userbase and become the go-to website for information on public health policy, CPHLR would like to redesign their universal web-based clearinghouse.

Solution: To create a seamless experience for LawAtlas users, we came up with three recommendations:

  • Improve data interaction by enhancing the cross-referencing feature that enables comparison across different jurisdictions.
  • Promote user engagement with a personalized dashboard and the “Add Suggestion” feature.
  • Enhance user interface with a new and improved look for LawAtlas.

The 6th Temple University NBC Universal Analytics Challenge – Participant

Challenge: Address the question “Why do pharmacies buy drugs from non-primary vendors?”  and determine the scope of drug leakage to AmerisourceBergen.

Our approach: We looked at the financial impact of pharmacies that have Primary Vendor Agreement with AmerisourceBergen and the amount of drug leakage generated by these vendors. Then we studied drug families that got leaked the most and their common attributes, causes of leakage and the likelihood of the drug families being leaked and proposed recommendations to AmerisourceBergen.

Target Case Competition 2018 – First Place

Challenge: The role of gender toys in merchandising: how should Target leverage on digitally connected families while avoiding unintended gender bias?

Solution: To empower kids to pursue their interests regardless of their genders, we came up with 4 solutions for Target’s consideration:

  • Opening of TargetPlay!: a play area where children can try out toys in different categories and decide which best suit their interests, across Super Target stores.
  • Optimizing in-store product allocation: to promote the idea that toys should be categorized based on interests, not genders.
  • Introduction of Target-owned toy brand: develop product lines that prioritize kids experience and expectation to leverage Target’s position as the 4th largest toy distributor and increase market share.
  • Running promotional campaigns both online and offline to raise parental awareness on gender-inclusivity.
