Technical Experience

SwiftIRC

Global Operator/Services Administrator, May 2010 – July 2013

SwiftIRC is a large internet relay chat (IRC) network that has 6,000+ unique daily users. SwiftIRC runs on a modified version of UnrealIRCd 3.2.6 using Anope’s open source services.

I acted as a first line of technical support, facilitated server upkeep through DDoS mitigation, oversaw all network services, managed a 14 person support team, and monitored a Blitzed Open Proxy Monitor to prevent bots and clones from entering the network.

I also coordinated the network’s Wikipedia project using MediaWiki’s software and supervised a 4-person team in charge of the Wikipedia.

Bluelight Dev

Quality Assurance Staff, June 2011 – July 2013

I ran beta tests for new updates to Bluelight Dev’s biggest product, a virtual gaming tool kit called “SwiftKit.” I was also responsible for keeping database information up to date, and offering the development department suggestions for product improvement.

Zybeznet

Administrator & Content Manager, February 2009 – April 2013

Zybez.net is a gaming information website owned by Curse Inc., that has over 200,000 daily users. I was a community administrator, and content manager. I oversaw a team of 20 who kept all of the information on the website up to date. I used HTML, CSS, PHP, FTP, and MySQL on a daily basis. As a community administrator, a large part of my role was account security, ensuring that each and every account was secure, especially the staff’s through hashed md5 account passwords and additional password dialogs for administrative control panel access. In addition, I helped oversee the website’s daily administrative operations, ranging from forum moderation to processing user reports (tickets).
