Coursework
Throughout my time in the MIS track here at Temple, I have taken a broad variety of courses. I have taken intro courses that give you the basics of information systems, and I have taken very specific courses such as 3501 which teaches students PHP coding and how to populate and extract data from databases. Overall, my experience in the track has taught me that there are many opportunities to get out of this major. There are opportunities in application development, in project management, in business analyst roles, and even in hardware/software support fields. I have gained skills in all of the listed fields but I still am not sure which one I want to focus on after graduation. I want to keep my horizons broad and I know when I find what I am looking for it will hit me like a brick wall. Until then, I want to keep trying for positions in the different fields until I find where I fit best.
