Hootathon
For the past two years, I have also participated in Hootathon; an event held at Temple to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During this event, dancers stand and interact for 12 straight hours. Additional events are held within the venue to help raise money. There are games, refreshments, and an open atmosphere that allows participants to interact with one another. It has been a great place to meet people. This past year, AIS, the organization I signed up under, received first place for donating the most money. Overall, this event has helped me understand the good businesses can do for the public and it has also helped me get out and intermingle with my colleagues in a way that is outside of the office or the classroom. This event is great and I hope the participation only grows in the coming years.
