2012 AIS International Student Competition

In April 2012, I received 1st place in the AIS International Student Video Competition. I chose to do the video portion of the competition with the prompt being “What Are Information Systems”. We were too explain to people with no knowledge of the major of what it is, what are the benefits and why should I choose this major. With the help of two other team members, we designed a video capturing the viewers attention by making a persuasive video that really emphasized the benefits of Information Systems. In the winter, we were contacted that we had made the cut and were to compete in Provo, Utah in the finals. Once in Provo, we were to again create another video, but this time only with 24 hours to do so and a topic that was to be chosen at random. We ended up finishing 1st place in the video track and brought back great recognition for our school. Throughout the competition I was able to network with other colleges all over the world and see how their program is ran. They also shared their experience with us within the major.
